How Self Care Can Help You Make More Money In Your Business

Raise your hand if you've ever felt like the entrepreneurial hustle is leaving you feeling more like a zombie than a CEO. ๐Ÿ™‹‍โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‹‍โ™‚๏ธ You're not alone! Many of us fall into the trap of believing that success requires endless hours of work and sacrificing our health and happiness.

But what if I told you that prioritising self care could actually be the KEY to unlocking your business's full potential?

In this blog post (inspired by episode 91 of the Master Your Business Podcast), I'm sharing my own journey from burnout to a six-figure breakthrough. We'll explore the surprising connection between self-care and business success and give you practical tips for ditching the hustle and embracing a more sustainable path to growth.

The Burnout Breaking Point

Burnout isn't just feeling a bit tired; it's a state of chronic exhaustion that can wreak havoc on your life and business.

Signs You're Headed for Burnout:

  • You're more caffeine than human. โ˜•
  • Your to-do list is longer than an IKEA receipt. ๐Ÿงพ
  • You're snapping at your loved ones like there’s no tomorrw. ๐Ÿ‘‹
  • You're dreaming about spreadsheets instead of sandy beaches. ๐Ÿ๏ธ

When you're burnt out, your productivity plummets, your decision-making gets foggy, and your creativity takes a nosedive. It's like trying to drive a car with an empty tank – you're not going to get very far.

Self-Care as a Business Strategy

Now, here's where things get really interesting.

I used to think self-care was a luxury. You know, something you could only afford after you'd made it big. But I was so wrong.

Self-care isn't a reward; it's an investment. It's the fuel that powers your business.

  • Self-care fuels your productivity. When you're well-rested, nourished, and emotionally balanced, you're able to focus better, make better decisions, and show up fully for your clients.
  • Self-care attracts dream clients. When you prioritise your own well-being, you radiate confidence and attract clients who value those same qualities.
  • Self-care creates a sustainable business. By taking care of yourself, you're building a business that can thrive for the long haul, not just in short bursts of unsustainable hustle.

Pro Tip

Schedule self-care into your calendar, just like you would any other important meeting. And don't you dare cancel on yourself!

From Chaos to Clarity: Work-Life Integration

Let's talk about that elusive "work-life balance." As a busy entrepreneur (and mom of two, plus two horses and three very fluffy dogs! ๐Ÿถ), I've learned that balance is a myth. What we can achieve is work-life integration.

It's about blending the different aspects of our lives in a way that feels good and sustainable. It's about embracing the messiness and finding a rhythm that works for YOU.

  • Embrace the messiness. Life happens. Kids get sick, dogs eat your shoes... roll with the punches.
  • Create flexible systems. Block off time for work and family, but be willing to adjust as needed.
  • Delegate like a boss. You don't have to do it all yourself. Get help where you can.

Here’s A Hack

Track your time for a week. You might be shocked to see where your energy is really going. This awareness is the first step to creating a schedule that actually works for YOU.

My 100K Self-Care Story

I know this all sounds great in theory, but does it actually work? You bet it does.

Let me share a bit of my own story. At the end of 2022, I was burnt out, broke, and ready to throw in the towel. I was working insane hours, barely sleeping, and surviving on junk food. My health was a mess, my relationships were strained, and my business was on life support.

But I made a decision to prioritise myself. I started exercising regularly, eating healthier, and even quit drinking for the year (yes, even the occasional glass of wine!). I also invested in a coach to help me overcome my fears and limiting beliefs.

And guess what? It worked.

Not only did my energy and focus improve, but my business started to thrive. I attracted my ideal clients, raised my prices, and hit six figures in revenue in just a few months. It was a complete 180, all thanks to self-care.

Conclusion:

You don't have to choose between success and sanity. By prioritising self-care, setting boundaries, and making smart business decisions, you can achieve both.

Ready to ditch the hustle and create a business that supports your life, not consumes it?
